Since its establishment in 1992, Banbridge District Twinning Association has played an active role in developing new links and building new friendships with towns in Ireland, Europe and the United States. To date, it has established twinning links with the following areas/countries:
The Association, which currently has 50 members, co-ordinates all twinning activities across the District. It has supported many activities to develop new links with new twinning partners and strengthen the relationship between existing twinning partners such as assisting exchanges between individuals and groups.
If you would like to learn about the culture, language or lifestyle of similar communities in other countries, you should get in touch with the Association. It offers a wealth of opportunity for anyone wanting to work or study abroad, improve their language skills, or take part in a cultural exchange. Banbridge District Council supports the work of Banbridge District Twinning Association and awarded it £4,000 to fund twinning activities during the year 2004/05.
