Recycling Centres and Points
Our community recycling centres accept all types of recyclable materials. These are located at Scarva Road, Banbridge, Mossvale Road, Dromore and Ballyroney Road, Rathfriland. There are also a number of community recycling points suitable for a variety of recyclable materials.
The council supports many local recycling initiatives to encourage all householders and businesses throughout the local area to recycle more. Some of these initiatives are supported in conjunction with national campaigns and some are unique local initiatives.
Recycling for Schools
The council is keen to encourage everyone living and working in the local area to recycle more. Its recycling education programme is targeted primarily at school children as we believe the younger generation has an important role to play in creating a more sustainable local environment for future generations. For further information please visit the School initiatives link
Recycling and waste collection operates on a three bin system the green bin is for recycling, the brown bin is for organic waste and the black bin is for landfill waste only. A list of what can and can’t be placed in each bin can be found in our Waste Collection Calendar and Recycling Guide.
