Recycling Centres and Points
There are three community recycling centres in the Banbridge District that accept all types of recyclable materials. These are located at Scarva Road, Banbridge, Mossvale Road, Dromore and Ballyroney Road, Rathfriland. There are also a number of community recycling points suitable for a variety of recyclable materials located throughout the District.
Banbridge District Council supports many local recycling initiatives to encourage all householders and businesses throughout the District to recycle more. Some of these initiatives are supported in conjunction with national campaigns and some are unique local initiatives.
Recycling for Schools
Banbridge District Council is keen to encourage everyone living and working in the District to recycle more. Its recycling education programme is targeted primarily at school children as we believe the younger generation has an important role to play in creating a more sustainable local environment for future generations. For further information please visit the School initiatives link
Recycling and waste collection operates on a three bin system the green bin is for recycling, the brown bin is for organic waste and the black bin is for landfill waste only. A list of what can and can’t be placed in each bin can be found in our Waste Collection Calendar and Recycling Guide.
